What/Who initially inspired you to become an artist?

My beautiful, strong, creative, brave, talented, funny and very special Mum and her wildly active home and work life. Love you mum x  / My beautiful Mum

What’s something in your home that you’ll never part with and why?

Next to my partner, dog and cat…and after my insulin pump haha…regarding material objects…. My handmade porcelain and ceramic collection is quite dear to me. 

Is there a moment in your creative process that feels unique to you?

All of it. If you’re copying your favourite artist or borrowing techniques because you are so inspired by someone else, you are doing it wrong. Make your art practice your own unique ritual. Anything visual that comes from that practice is pure cream on top.

Is there a place (city/country/region) that influences your design style?

My home and my heart, past and present. Dandy and Lano for the locals. And the never-ending colour, culture and spirituality of Bali, India and Asia.

Advice to aspiring artists?

Keep painting. Turn off your head. Fall in love with your practice.

What element of your work do you most attribute to your success?

My work ethic.

What is your favourite brand or piece at Loam?

All the McMullin and specifically the McMullin chrome x10 please.
